We're thrilled to announce we'll be working with
Karolina Ristevski
on her play River Was Here
as part of our new SAGE 2 PAGE
script development program.
Karolina has a Bachelor of Creative Arts from the University of Wollongong. She was selected for the Merrigong Emerging Playwrights Program where she studied under Patrick White Award and Griffin Award winner, Mark Rogers. She was Writer in Residence at the 2019 Sydney Fringe Festival where she completed her play, Cate Fucking Blanchett, which is now being developed and produced in partnership with Brave New Word Theatre Company.
Long listed for The Australian/Vogel' Literary Award, the judges called her writing ‘beguiling’ and declared Karolina ‘a writer with talent’. Her short story, Wonderboy, was published in Never Heard of Them: An anthology for emerging writers. Her micro-fiction, The Kiosk, has been performed by Little Fictions, an evening hosted by Spineless Wonders Short Australian Stories, at the Inner West Council's Site and Sound Festival, and later broadcast on the Little Fictions podcast.
